Kenya & Tanzania Family Tour

Jambo and Karibu! This eleven-day safari is ideal for families. It gives an incredible experience as we fly over the Kenyan skies, dive in the Tanzanian waters and cross lands that united these two magnificent places with their warm and welcoming people! The journey guarantees contact with the largest number of wild game, numerous species of unique birds, sampled African delicacies and above all, a refreshing touch with nature at its most pristine form! At the end, without doubt, we can sigh, ‘Magical Africa!’

Tour Program

Day 1: JKIA

Land at JKIA. Karibu sana to the city in the sun, Nairobi; and Africa, the land of unrivalled beauty. Our driver who’ll be on standby will take us to the hotel to refresh as we await a sizzling dinner at Carnivore Restaurant, famed for its nyama choma, where we’ll sample a variety of game meat!

Day 2: Nairobi/Nakuru

Today, we depart Nairobi to Lake Nakuru to see hundreds of pink flamingoes that cover the surface of the lake. We’ll bask in the beauty of these creature, taking photos before we head for lunch. In the afternoon, we’ll go for a game drive where we will see water bucks, hyenas, giraffes, and impalas and just maybe, we may be lucky to see a white rhino.

Dinner and overnight will be at a luxury camp.

Day 3: Nakuru/Mara

We reverse the alphabets, from N to M; Nakuru to Mara. After breakfast, we go on a morning game drive before heading to the Mara in time for the afternoon game drive after lunch at the lodge. It’s worth noting that Maasai Mara Game Reserve is an extension of Serengeti Ecosystem and therefore, there is a constant availability of wildebeests across the seasons. The Mara Triangle located in the North-Western part of the Mara Reserve is one third of Maasai Mara National Reserve covering an area of 510km². It falls within two natural borders and one political border; to the East is Mara River, to the West is Oloololo Escarpment also known as Siria Escarpment, and to the South West is the Tanzania/Serengeti border.

Day 4: Maasai Mara

We’ll go for an early morning drive and see the Big Five and later enjoy a sumptuous breakfast in the bush as we savor every moment of the unforgettable experience. Maasai Mara offers so much variety ranging from the over 2 million wildebeest annual migration, the Big Five, to the hot-air balloon flights in the vast savanna and not forgetting the over 400 species of birds. We return to the lodge for lunch before embarking on the afternoon game drive.

Day 5: Mara/Amboseli

We’ll go for a morning game drive after breakfast and take memorable pictures of our favorite animals before departing for Amboseli National Park. Lunch will be taken enroute.

Day 6: Amboseli

We’ll spend the entire day in the park viewing animals and taking pictures of Mountain Kilimanjaro as the sun rises and sets. We can see the ‘Big Five’, feel the Maasai culture, watch the African sunset as it goes to sleep over Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest and free-standing mountain in the world and take great memorable photo opportunities that will last a lifetime all in one visit! Birds of all kinds can also be found here and so it is advisable that we bring along cameras and binoculars.

Day 7: Amboseli/Arusha/Ngorongoro

We cross into Tanzania in the morning after breakfast as we head to Arusha. Enjoy a sumptuous meal at a hotel in Arusha as we relive the memorable experience, then head to Ngorongoro Conservation Areas’, a stunning landscape, spanning 809, 440 hectares of savanna highland plains, woodlands and forests, established in 1959. The conservation is located between Serengeti National Park and Lake Manyara in Tanzania.

Dinner and overnight will be at the lodge.

Day 8: Ngorongoro

Today, we go for a full game drive in the crater which is the world’s largest non-flooded caldera covering 260km² wide and 610 meters deep. The Crater together with the surrounding highlands form Africa’s breathtakingly beautiful and famous safari destination is an ideal place to see the ‘Big Five’.

Day 9: Ngorongoro/Serengeti

We depart to Serengeti in the morning after a hot breakfast, Tanzania’s most famous park and home to the Great Annual Migration. The wildebeest migrate through many parks, conservation areas and reserves. The Ecosystem includes Serengeti National Park in the middle, with Grumeti Ikorongo Game Reserve in the East, Loliondo Game Area in the West, Maasai Mara National Reserve to the North, and Maswa Game Reserve to the South, and continues to Ngorongoro Conservation unit, a World heritage Site named in 1979.

We’ll take lunch at the lodge and then go for an afternoon game drive.

Dinner and overnight will be at a luxury camp.

Day 10: Serengeti

We’ll continue with our exploration of the African wildlife in the morning and afternoon game drives because Serengeti is known as the jewel in the crown of Tanzania, its expansive ecosystem has 1.5million hectares of savanna, an annual migration of about 2million wildebeest, accompanied by thousands of predators, together with hundreds of thousands of gazelles, zebras, elands, and antelopes. Later in the evening, we can visit the Maasai traditional dancers and learn how to dance by jumping. It’s a thrilling experience of cultural integration.

Day 11: Serengeti/Dar es Salaam

Serengeti Ecosystem is one of the oldest on earth and its flora and fauna has barely changed in the past 1000 years. We’ll go for an early morning game drive before coming back for breakfast and then leave for Dar es Salaam in time for our flight back home.
